Innov8 Consulting was started by Managing Director, James Scurr, to help small to medium businesses reach their ultimate business goals.
Here’s How It All Began
James had always had quite a unique way of looking at business ownership. For him, success was never about owning just one business – it was about being able to effectively run many businesses simultaneously.
While studying for his Bachelor of Business, James noticed the increasing popularity of fresh juice bars. His keen research alerted him to a little-known business in Adelaide called Boost Juice Bars. He discovered they were just about ready to start franchising! Within weeks James had signed an agreement to buy the first Boost Juice Bar in Queensland at Garden City Shopping Centre.
Now he had one business running smoothly, it was time to put his multiple-business plan into action. He focused on systems and training, and in less than a year was able to buy another Boost Juice franchise. Here was the proof that he could create and follow a plan that made his businesses run successfully without him.
Since then James has started a number of other business that all now run profitably without James’ full time input.
James is a professionally recognised businessman who, in addition to running his own businesses, has had much experience working within large corporations. He has worked as a Manager for Hoyts Cinemas Ltd. and Birch Carroll & Coyle Cinemas (now Event Cinemas). Whilst at Birch Carroll Coyle & Coyle, James managed a large number of cinema locations and was actively involved in the opening of Australia’s first ever 16-screen Megaplex cinemas at Indooroopilly and Garden City. He also successfully oversaw the merger of Hoyts Cinemas and Greater Union Cinemas in Brisbane City whilst under the close watch of the ACCC.

In the spare time James has created for himself he makes it a priority to spend quality time with his young family while still being able to nurture his love for travel, motorsport and scuba diving.
